Colors of Northern Vermont: A Celebration of the Autumn Equinox

$99.00

Join us as we celebrate the beauty of the autumn equinox in the heart of Northern Vermont. This workshop, hosted by the talented Brigid Griffin, invites you to dive into the world of natural dyeing with me and connect with our amazing community in this beautiful setting.

Event Description

As the leaves begin to turn and the air cools, the autumn equinox symbolizes balance and harvest. Embrace the themes of prosperity and wholeness as we explore the goldenrod—an abundant plant in our rural landscapes, representing the beauty found in setting boundaries and making the most of what surrounds us.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn about local color, natural fibers, and foraging practices while creating beautiful, naturally dyed organic cotton beanies and socks. Each participant will select a size for their socks (Medium or Large) to ensure a perfect fit:

  • Medium: US Shoe Size 5.5 - 9 Women / 4 - 8 Men

  • Large: US Shoe Size 10 - 13 Women / 8 - 12 Men

Please note: the beanies are one size fits all

Together, we will explore the dyeing potential of locally foraged plants, and share insights on how to make the most of nature's offerings. After our creative session, we will gather for a community dinner, celebrating the connections made and the colors created.

What to Bring:

  • Food or Drinks: Please bring something to drink for dinner (BYOB).

  • Play Clothes: Dress for mess, as natural dyeing can get a bit colorful!

  • Dietary Restrictions: Kindly inform us of any dietary restrictions for the dinner.
